Supporting Families & Empowering Kids - By Anonymous

Our family had a very positive experience with Early Childhood Education and Care services when my daughter was referred by her pediatrician for speech therapy. We reached out to Family Connections, who quickly scheduled a screening and began speech therapy right away. Everyone involved— from the staff to the therapists— was incredibly nice and supportive, which made the process smooth and reassuring for both my daughter and me. Speech therapy proved to be extremely beneficial for her, helping her make great progress.

To support positive change in my community, I have helped organize community and PTA (Parent Teacher Association) events. I also helped lead a multi-level Girl Scout troop and service unit events for the Belleville/Swansea troops, where children of all ages could participate in fun, educational games. These events created opportunities for families to come together, build relationships, and provide kids with hands-on learning experiences. By organizing these activities, I’ve helped foster a sense of belonging and connection among families. Kids have had the chance to explore new interests and gain confidence, and families have strengthened their relationships through shared experiences.

In the future, I hope to involve more community members by creating more volunteer opportunities and encouraging people to take on leadership roles within events. This would help spread the workload and empower others to contribute to creating positive experiences for families.
